Report cards: Q1 report cards will go home Monday

 

Awards Assembly: On Wednesday, November 1st, we will have an awards assembly for Q1. Parents are welcome to attend. The Kindergarten awards will be given at 8:30am and Grades 1-6 will be given at 9:00am.

AEA Pet Social: Join us for our first Pet Social on Saturday, October 28th from 12:00-2:00 at Roman Park in Westlake. Bring your friends, families and neighbors to enjoy free Hot Dogs and all the furry friends. Flyer is attached.

 

 

Halloween festivities: Students will be permitted to dress in costume for school on Tuesday, October 31st. Please see the attached Halloween costume guidelines. Any students who do not follow the guidelines will not

​be allowed to wear a costume and will need to call for a change of clothes​

.

 

Instructional fees:  The $50 instructional fees were due by September 11th. Families who have not paid or turned in the waiver form by the end of the first Quarter will not receive a report card. 

 

Pub Quiz: AEA will be hosting its annual Pub Quiz on Saturday, November 4th at the Ridgecrest Recreation Center in North Ridgeville. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at both schools. We are looking for parent-family volunteers to help. We are asking for donation(s) of food/deserts, beer, wine, pop, merchandise for basket raffles.  We also need volunteers for set up and clean up of event. Character Education:  November's Character Trait is Compassion 

 

Lead Poisoning Information: The Ohio Department of Education requires us to distribute information to parents regarding the dangers of lead poisoning.  I have attached information for your reference.

 

Afternoon Pickup Change: Starting Wednesday, November 1st, we are asking that students in grades 3-6 be picked up at the front of the building or by the first sidewalk that goes out to the parking lot (students will be coming out of the main doors, not the side door at the back of the building).

Parking Lot Friday (10.20.17): Please be advised our East lot will be resealed on Friday.  ALL students should be dropped off and picked up at the front entrances of the building--by the bus loop. During drop-off, parents are welcome to park along the front curb to walk their student into the building.  During pickup, we ask parents to stop behind the orange cone in order to allow the buses to pick up and make their way around the circle.  We apologize for any inconvenience!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the parents who volunteered and contributed to our Halloween festivities.  It was so nice to see so many parents and family members in the building working with our wonderful AEA students.  The staff truly appreciates you. 

 

A.L.I.C.E. Training:  We will begin A.L.I.C.E Training with the students in November. Please see the attached letter from Dr. Thomas with details.  Feel free to call or email him with questions. bruce.thomas@aeaohio.org

 

Yard signs:  We will be distributing AEA Student Scholar Yard Signs during pick up tomorrow and Thursday on the 4-7 side of the building.  If you are interested in placing a free sign in your yard, flag us down at dismissal and we will bring it to you.

Book Fair: AEA will be hosting its annual book fair on Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st during the school day and during Parent-Teacher conferences. Online orders are accepted as well. See the attached flyer for more information.

 

Box Tops:  Send in those box tops and help us earn money for classroom materials for our students.  There is also an app you can use. The flyer is attached.
