zearn math

We are excited to share that our students in grades K-8 will be participating in Zearn Math during the school year. Zearn is a top-rated math curriculum that personalizes learning for each student, which in turn will help to address students' learning gaps and provide opportunities for extension. All the lessons throughout the program will engage students in multiple ways including: whole group class instruction, small group instruction, and independent digital lessons.

Each math class will start with a whole-class lesson to introduce the material and allow for teacher-led modeling. Students will learn how to complete tasks and correct mistakes during this part of the lesson. This will allow for discussion on topics and strategy sharing before working on the independent lessons.

After the introduction, students will work through independent digital lessons. Each student has the opportunity to work on the content at their own pace. These lessons include fun warm-ups to build math foundations. They include interactive videos to learn new concepts and written work to transfer learning. Students also receive feedback that is supportive, precise, and personalized to ensure continued learning occurs.

When small group instruction occurs, each student discusses their reasoning aloud, works

with concrete objects to demonstrate their thinking, and receives feedback on their

understanding.

The best part of the Zearn Math Program is that students can learn online from anywhere by simply going to the student resource section on the Albert Einstein Academy website (www.aeaohio.org) and logging into their Clever dashboard.
